Consistency of Von Mises Units?
Consistency of Von Mises Units?
(OP)
if force, F is in in.lbm/sec^2 and area, A is in in^2, how does mechanica get Von mises in lbm/sec^2/in^2? All places I've looked say, for example, 2.7E4 lbm/sec^2/in^2 is equal to 27ksi. can someone walk me through this please?

Take a look at the out put window again: It should
read (in lbm/sec^2/in^2).
What it is saying is this:
in*lbm/(sec^2*in^2) which is:
lbm/(sec^2*in).
Good luck,
Steve
