Good Stress/Structural Analysis books?

Good Stress/Structural Analysis books?

Good Stress/Structural Analysis books?

(OP)
I'm a 25 year old with a couple years under my belt now since graduating with my BS.  While I work with FEA and damage tolerance methods everyday and am persuing my MS I'm looking for some good material on stress analysis.  Does anyone have any suggestions of good books on this topic?  I really love this field and want to be the best I can be at it.  I already have the classis books such as Peterson's and Roark's.  Any suggestions would be appreciated. :)

Thanks in advance,
-Brian

RE: Good Stress/Structural Analysis books?

My vote is 3 books--two by Timoshenko, Theory of Elasticity and Theory of Plates and Shells, and Tada/Paris, Stress Analysis of Cracks Handbook (now is a very nicely bound book by ASME).

RE: Good Stress/Structural Analysis books?

Having had Paris as a professor of fracture mechanics I can attest to the value of something he's authored.

Timoshenko is also another good sourse for a theoretical background in advanced mechanics of materials.

Also, Roark's formulas for stress and strain is useful to benchmark a FEA against.

RE: Good Stress/Structural Analysis books?

Some books I found useful (some are classic textbooks in the mentioned field):

1)Elasticity
   - Theory of Elasticity - by S. Timoshenko, J.N. Goodier
   - Mathematical Theory of Elasticity - by I. S. Sokolnikoff

2)Plasticity
   - The Mathematical Theory of Plasticity - by R. Hill
   - Fundamentals of the Theory of Plasticity - by L. M. Kachanov

4)Thermal Stresses
   - Theory of Thermal Stresses -  by Bruno A. Boley, Jerome H. Weiner

3)Continuum mechanics
   - Introduction to the Mechanics of a Continuous Medium - by Lawrence E. Malvern
   - The Non-Linear Field Theories of Mechanics - by Clifford Truesdell, Walter Noll

4)Constitutive behaviors (in general)
   - Mechanics of Solid Materials - by Jean Lemaitre, Jean-Louis Chaboche

5)Fatigue
   - Fatigue of Materials - by S. Suresh

6)Fracture mechanics
   - Fracture Mechanics: Fundamentals and Applications - by Ted L. Anderson
   - Elementary Engineering Fracture Mechanics - by David Broek

7)Solid mechanics (in general)
   - Classical and Computational Solid Mechanics - by Y. C. Fung, Pin Tong
   - Elastoplasticity Theory - by Vlado A. Lubarda

8)Finite element method
   - The Finite Element Method: Linear Static and Dynamic  Finite Element Analysis - by Thomas J. R. Hughes
   - Finite Element Procedures - by Klaus-Jurgen Bathe
   - Nonlinear Finite Elements for Continua and Structures - by Ted Belytschko, Wing Kam Liu, Brian Moran
   - The Finite Element Method (3 volumes) - by O. C. Zienkiewicz, R. L. Taylor
   - Computational Inelasticity - by J. C. Simo, Thomas J. Hughes
