Turbine Engine Installation Losses for Helicopters

Turbine Engine Installation Losses for Helicopters

Turbine Engine Installation Losses for Helicopters

(OP)
Can someone describe how you determine the installation losses (i.e., due to inlet, exhaust, power extraction, etc.) via flight testing for helicopters.  What data do you collect and then what calculations are performed on the data to determine the specific and bulk installation losses.
Thanks,  Schuyler

RE: Turbine Engine Installation Losses for Helicopters

schuyler...

SAE has several AIRs and ARPs on helo powerplant installation and Installation losses [from various sources].

If You have access to IHS the search on spec: "SAE*" plus nomenclature: "helicopter": if not then go to SAE.org and search for the spec/doc & titles/keywords.

Regards, Wil Taylor
