N Value Conversions for Differing Sampler Size

N Value Conversions for Differing Sampler Size

(OP)

I'm reviewing N value data corrections for sampler size between SPT, modified California, California, and Dames & More split-spoon samplers.  I'm interested in getting additional information regarding this correlation.  I've reviewed Burmister (1948), Lacroix & Horn (1973), and some empirical correlations for cohesive and cohesionless soils.

I'd appreciate any information or direction you may have on this issue!  Thanks.

theCorkster,

See thread261-82930 for more discussion. BigH dishes out some Winterkorn & Fang as well as Burmister.

jdonville,

Thanks for the reference - the information presented in Winterkorn & Fang steared me to the answer to my question!
