3D Label Library

Is there any place on web I can get safety label models for free?
It is not like it's hard to build own, but if somebody already created them...

RE: 3D Label Library

You may also want to try Paul Salvador's website. He has a few 3D labels that you may be able to use.

RE: 3D Label Library

Adobe Illustrator is perfect for this. You can bring in label graphics which are readily available, use the selection and create outlines tools in ai, and then import the closed vector loops for bosses with the SW ai import.

Take a look at http://www.cptec.org/news/20040403.html

Quote:

The library is free and contains warning signs (danger signs), prohibiting signs, mandatory action signs and further pictograms in the GIF and the EPS file format. The symbols can be downloaded individually or as a ZIP file containing all symbols.

Thank you. Those labels are 2D, but I can use them as a sketch picture to create nice looking label.

RE: 3D Label Library

Do you really need 3D?

Could you just use the sketch picture or decal?

cheers

RE: 3D Label Library

That's what I am going to create. But idea was to find something alraedy available. And 3D labels would be visible on drawings unlike sketches.

RE: 3D Label Library

Skecthes could be visible and you can make them into blocks.

Chris,
I've created label with sketch (part), add it to assembly, it looks nice, but on the drawing there is no sketch, just label part outline. How to make sketch visible? What do you mean "make them into blocks"?
Thank you. Boris.

RE: 3D Label Library

I am a big fan of doing labels, graphics and text as very thin extrusions or cuts when possible and then coloring them as features. SW sketch text and features like wrap are great for this too. You end up getting very nice models for edrawings using this method, although it can get heavy on the package and file size, and its a bit time consuming. It all depends on what you need, a pretty picture, rendered animations, something machinable, an edrawings htm or exe, or an official print. I would use different techniques for all formentioned processes.

RE: 3D Label Library

If it is just a label to show on a dwg, draw it on the dwg as a sketch, select it, tools/block/new. Save it.
If you want it inserted onto a model surface, then create it as a feature/part or insert as picture.

Thank you.
