Hole tables.

Hole tables.

Hole tables.

(OP)
Hi,
I currently use solidworks to design hydraulic manifolds, removing surfaces and being able to get holes close together is great but when it comes to drawing it up im a bit confused.

If i put a cross drilling with a 1/8"npt hole in a face for a socket grub screw plug, in order to ensure the plug does not stick proud of the block we put a 11.5dia x 3 deep counterbore. The problem comes when using hole tables, if i select the face it will only see the 11.5 holes. If i select the npt thread it will only see that and if i select both the face and the hole it lists them as two holes with different tag numbers. How can i get it to list the one hole as a 1/8"npt hole with 11.5 c.bore.
It does do this sometimes but i cant get any consistant results.

Im currently typing manual tables which seems to defeat the whole object!

Cheers for any help

Lee

RE: Hole tables.

Two separate features creates two separate callouts I believe?

RE: Hole tables.

Just curious ... how will having a counterbore ensure the plug does not stick proud of the block? If the hole is not tapped deep enough the screw will still stand proud. Or are you using the counterbore face as a thread depth datum?

Instead of using a counterbore, could you use the Hole Wizards Near side countersink option? If you can use this option, it will show up as a single hole in the Hole Table.

cheers
