Right, and that is what I have done... it's the underside of the cover is what I am interested in. I need to permenately mount something on the top of it. but there seems to be no drawing or cad file whatsoever within the Mettler family of companies. Strange I thought, I have called about 15 phone #'s and 10 e-mails addresses within 2 weeks. Nothing but a VERY vauge pdf file of one sheet which looks to be a manual drawing. The 50 lb. gorilla of scales still using the board? Yeah right... I was going to drill some holes and weld some nuts on the underside of the cover, maybe I can get away with that....

RE: METTLER-TOLEDO

Could you use an industrial epoxy instead of welding nuts on

Or make a frame which sits on and clamps around the cover?

cheers

Did you get a negative reply from MT? In addressing some PROFIBUS controls issues, I found them to be very helpful.

Not really, it just seems that I'm getting the run-around. I can't waste more time on this, I'll just deal with this issue the best I can. Thanks for all your help!!!

RE: METTLER-TOLEDO

heres how we used to do it

we used to make a frame and put a piece of angle on each corner of te uprights this meant the frame angles just slipped over the corners of the scale

metler didnt like us welding things to their scales

RE: METTLER-TOLEDO

I Don't have an exact model of the scale in question, but
I CAN tell you how it is built.  It has a "Single point" cell
in the center, with an X shaped frame mounted to one end of the cell. On top that the stainless sheetmetal cover sits over the frame.  Welding or adding holes for bolts generaly is not a problem aslong as it is not directly above the frame NOR can it warp the sheet metal cover (warpage will result in nonlinearity)

If you need more info on this type of scale, I might be able to dig up somthing more spcific
