1D Simulation (cooling cycle), which SW?

1D Simulation (cooling cycle), which SW?

(OP)
Hello,

I need to evaluate different software programs for 1D simulation, concerning an engine's cooling cycle. I mean the cooling circuit around the engine (engine itself can be used as a blackbox), so elements like a pump, heat exchanger, fan, overflow tank, engine element, air and coolant flows ... are required.

The 4 common programs are KULI, Flowmaster, AMESim and GT-COOL. Without testing, they all seem to fullfil the demands smile.
Would like to go to a testfase, but I don't have enough time to do that with the 4 programs...a first selection would be neceassary ponder.
So far, we are out-sourcing it, so we have no experience.

All hints or tips are more than welcome!

I thought SimulationX would be a cheaper alternative, but no respond from them for the moment. Think AFT Fathom is not capable of simulating all we want. I am not aware of other programs.

The topic was already mentioned in the beginning of this year (thread997-144859)

Thanks in advance!
