Should the welding processes in WPS and PQR be same?
Should the welding processes in WPS and PQR be same?
(OP)
The processes used in WPS are GMAW/SMAW and the processes used in supporting PQR are GMAW/FCAW. is this permitted? Should the welding processes in WPS and PQR be same?

RE: Should the welding processes in WPS and PQR be same?
For the WPS to be qualified in accordance with Section IX of the ASME B&PV Code, the welding processes on the WPS must be supported by the welding processes used in the PQR.
So, the PQR that was generated for this WPS must have the GMAW and the SMAW processes qualified. Keep in mind that you can have multiple PQR's support a WPS.
RE: Should the welding processes in WPS and PQR be same?
The question can't be answered completely without knowing the applicable welding standard.

Without knowing how the procedure has to be qualified, I cannot give an accurate answer.
