young modulus for aluminium

(OP)
Hi to everybody,

I have a question: how change the young modulus of an aluminium alloy in consequence of work-hardening?

thanks

RE: young modulus for aluminium

Young's modulus is an inherent physical property of the of the material and will NOT be changed by cold work or heat treatment.

RE: young modulus for aluminium

Swall's statement is true for completely randomized microstructures.  However, as elastic moduli vary with respect to crystallographic orientation, a highly textured material can have elastic moduli that differ from the those derived from a random microstructure.

Regards,

Cory
