Mbs Signal........What is the frequency?

(OP)
I need to run a 400 Mbs (mega bit per second) signal through a connector. My question is: What is the frequecy that this signal is running at? Thank you in advance for any information. Bill B.

I work as a development engineer for AMP - Tyco Electronics located near Harrisburg, PA. I help design interconnections and electrical connectors for aerospace applications.

RE: Mbs Signal........What is the frequency?

What is the type of modulation of the signal?  This plays a major role in the spectrum of the signal.
If the modulation is binary, then the frequency will be 400 Megahertz, but your connection will need to pass at least the fifth harmonic.  If the modulation scheme is some form of QAM, then the carrier frequency will be much less than 400MHz.
   Hope this helps.
