parts list adjustable part

parts list adjustable part

(OP)
Hi all,

I've placed adjustable parts in an asm.
All adjustable parts have a basic extruded protrusion of 100 mm.
For the asm I have changed the length of the extruded protrusions to 500 mm.
How can I put the 'adjusted' length of the part in the parts list of my draft file?

RE: parts list adjustable part

Evert,

as it looks now in V18/Sp7 it's not possible. You can expose the
controlling assy's variable which will show up as an available
column in BOM but SE will fetch that from the part -- obviously
it's not there.
The exposed variable can, however, be used in a callout and
will show the actual dimension

Thanks dy for your answers.

However, I forgot to mention I'm working with solid edge version 19 now.

Is it possible to do the above in V19?

RE: parts list adjustable part

Evert,

no, even in V19 it's not possible. When you place the
assy that contains an adjustable part into another assy
and the exposed varable is used in the BOM it will show
the correct value but only if the BOM is not atomic. Needless
to say that the value will be shown for the assy, which is
nonsense ...
