1"->6" sch10 SS aisi 316 @ 435psi & 480¦F is OK?
(OP)
I have received from a piping contractor a quote proposal for a process plant I am project managing.
The fluid streaming in the pipes is coconut oil at 250°C or 480°F maximum temperature, oil being put at max. 30bar operational pressure, MAWP being 35bar or 435psi (1bar=14.5psi).
piping diameters are 1" , 2" , 3" , 4" and 6".
The contractor says a schedule 10 stainless steel Aisi316 material is sufficient for that pressure at that temperature .
I don't have the required knowledge to verify this.
Can one of the specialists here confirm or deny, based on his experience?

The contractor submitted an apology, and sent me his own pipe supplier's documentation having a P/T graph, and clearly showing that he should have used a sch40S for the 4" and 6" pipes.
big inch, the code is AD-2000, german based one.
the problem is solved.
