Drag & Drop into SW / Not Taking Focus

Drag & Drop into SW / Not Taking Focus

Drag & Drop into SW / Not Taking Focus

(OP)
I'm not entirely sure that this is a SolidWorks issue.

I like to drag and drop files from Windows Explorer and into SolidWorks (which is usually in the background behind Windows Explorer).  SolidWorks does not take focus; instead it remains behind the Explorer window.  Is this normal behavior?  I tested this with some other programs and they do take focus.  At my previous job, I seem to remember SW taking focus.

Thoughts?  Thanks,

Brian

RE: Drag & Drop into SW / Not Taking Focus

Works like that here seems fine to me... I have never noticed it taking over before... I think its like that incase you more then one file you want to drag and drop and IMO thats a good thing. I don't have to continue clicking back and forth.

RE: Drag & Drop into SW / Not Taking Focus

Not sure what version you are using, but in newer SW versions you can use the "Design Library" in the SW Task Panel to drag and drop. That way you only need to have the SW window open.
