Dashboard toggle in Wildfire 3
Dashboard toggle in Wildfire 3
(OP)
Hello all,
We have just installed a seat of wildfire 3 at work. No one here has any experience in this software, as we currently use Catia V5.
Anyway, I have started working through the online tutorials and have progressed to assemblies. I have noticed that I am being instructed to use the dashboard at various points, but at these points the dashboard is not visible.
Is there a way to toggle the dashboard on and off manually, or is it always linked to the function you are currently using?

RE: Dashboard toggle in Wildfire 3
There are two ways to bring up a dashboard:
1)Create a new feature (in a part) or assemble a new component.
2)Selecting the feature (or component) in the model tree or graphics window, holding down your RMB and choosing Edit Definition and not 'Edit' or 'Edit References'. Considering that these three options come one after another in the context menu, it's an easy mistake to make.

Does anyone at your company have experience with other versions of Pro/E like 2001 or earlier? The reason that I ask is that many people who have used these versions don't like using the dashboard and often times select Applications Legacy to work with the old interface to create features.
Where I am currently working I was helping someone out and we found that if the Wildfire model is saved while in Legacy mode, the next time it is opened the Standard Mode will not show the dashboard.
If you see a menu at the right side of the screen that says Menu Manager LEGACY PRT this is probably what occured.

I think in this particular instance, the dashboard was not showing because of the function that I was in.
Thanks for the comments and suggestions
