Ring beams on tanks at cone to cylinder
Ring beams on tanks at cone to cylinder
(OP)
Can someone please give me a website or other resource which provides details of typical ring beams on tanks at abrupt changes of shell slope? (ie at a cone to cylinder) I'm designing a tank with FEA and I can't get a good method of lowering shell stress at the ring beam
Thanks,

But be aware that the design methods of API-620 may allow some localized yielding and bending in that area- so don't just assume that designs meeting the standard are going to check out okay on FEA as well.
