Assembling body to body

Assembling body to body

Assembling body to body

(OP)
I am assembling a body to a body. Haven't had any trouble till lately. When I assemble,,,it makes a copy of the body, hides it, yet assembles it too. When you look in the tree,,the assemble appears to be empty. The body becomes united to the main body,,, and I have a copy that is placed in NO SHOW. Just curious what step I am missing. Thank You

RE: Assembling body to body

Ryan, it sounds like you are in Hybrid design mode.  Check tools-options-infrastructure-part infrastructure- part document.

Regards,
Derek

RE: Assembling body to body

Actually this could may be assembling a hybrid body to a non hybrid.  If you want to eliminate this from your model you could use copy/paste as result.  If I remember correctly the with link option will not change the solid type.

Regards,
Derek

OK,,thanks guys. So what is the proper way to start a file WITHOUT hybrid? I know it is under tools,, options. I thought I had already done this.

RE: Assembling body to body

Have your system administrator turn Hybrid Modelling off for everone :)

If you get the "start part" window popping up, just uncheck Enable Hybrid Modelling.  If not, TOOLS, OPTIONS, INFRASTRUCTURE, PART INFRASTRUCTURE, Part Document, and Uncheck Enable Hybrid Modelling
