Sketch dimensions don't display

Sketch dimensions don't display

(OP)
I’m running SW 2006 on a 3 GHz P4 desktop with an nVidia Quadro FX 1300 graphics card.  2 GB system ram, 64 MB vram, 2 CRT monitors: monitor 1 = Mag 19”; monitor 2 = Mag 17”.  I use monitor 2 only for the AutoCad text screen, but it is always on – i.e. I always leave the nVidia set up for 2 monitors.  I often run SolidWorks, AutoCad, Excel, Firefox, Thunderbird, and Word at the same time.  I have the standard nVidia/SolidWorks settings turned on.

Often, but not always, when I enter an existing SW sketch, dimensions do not display.  If I drag the cursor over them, they display and stay displayed until I try to edit one, or change the view in any way.  As soon as I double click on one to edit it, all the others turn off again.  This does not always happen – sometimes dimensions display and edit normally.  I updated the nVidia driver recently and this did not help.

Any ideas why this might be happening?

RE: Sketch dimensions don't display

I have only seen that once, on SW 05. I had to do a reinstall to fix it. Others may have a different fix.

RE: Sketch dimensions don't display

The problem you describe is usually caused by an incorrect driver or one which has not been installed properly.
See FAQ559-1194 and the last few posts of thread559-167360.

"I updated the nVidia driver recently and this did not help."
So you are now using the 7756 driver? and the 7184 driver gave the same problem?

cheers
