Dear Friends

Could someone please advice that what kind face velocities are generally considered for sizing Exhaust Louvers and Moisture Eliminators at air intakes

Iam concerned about Noise and pressure drop. Is 6 m/s face velocity is good enough.

Any information about any supplier specific website with noise and pressure drop data would be higly appreciated

RE: Moisture Eliminator.Exhaust Louvers-Offshore Platforms

Noise is rarely an issue if the face velocity is kept below 1250 fpm or so.  At 1250 fpm, the pressure drop is about 0.53" H2O for the 7000 series moisture eliminator (7" overall depth), and about 0.81" for the 400 series moisture eliminator (4 3/8" overall depth).

We are currently working on updating our website with more stuff and less fluff.  Fan specs and sound profiles, cut sheets, moisture eliminator specs, and other necessary tidbits for the discerning engineer/designer/end user.

Please feel free to email me anytime with questions!
