Help with RSLogix 5000

(OP)
I am using RSLogix 5000 ver 15 Enterprise edition. My controller is a 1756-L1 with firmware 13.27. RSLogix give the error that it cannot communicate with the controller and to update the controller firmware or install support for the firmware for RSLogix. Im having trouble finding either of these updates, can anyone point me in the right direction.

thanks,
James

RE: Help with RSLogix 5000

Firmware updates can be downloaded from Rockwell.
Start here:

http://support.rockwellautomation.com/firmware.asp

You will have create a username if you do not already have one.

You must either download the v.15 firmware and update the processor, or install v.13 of RSLogix 5000.

Version 15 of RSLogix should give you the option of also installing previous versions, such as version 13, in which case you would be able to open an existing project, without having to flash the firmware.

RE: Help with RSLogix 5000

I am 99% sure that the L1 processor (now obsolete from Rockwell) only supports firmware 13.27 and lower.  Your only real answer is to go back to your install CD/DVD's and install RSLogix5k version 13 then you can talk to the controller.
