hey hi there any one can give me a procedure to carry out
some manitinence and back up work on Siemens PLC
i am a new tech and this is my first project given to me

RE: carry out PM's on siemens PLC's

that's rather a vague question. Siemens manufacture quite a number of PLC's. I suggest you go to their Product Support website and browse around. Once you know specifically what you want and maybe cannot find it on the following website, come back to Eng-tips and ask away.

RE: carry out PM's on siemens PLC's

I suggest as a minimum be able to connect to PLC, download program, verify you have it. Try to practice on an on site spare so you know the software. Learn how to change the battery, every PM put in a new one why not.
Demonstrate you can put a program in an empty one. When you feel confident you can walk up to the customers PLC dead in the water, replace it's CPU, put the program in and put it back to work thats the start.
