This must be a fairly simple equation. I looked through my old physics textbooks from 30 years ago and couldn't find it. I tried to google it, but there is WAY too much information, and NO equations.

Ah... the formula must be similar to the one used for circumferential stress (hoop stress) in pressure vessels, but with an equation for centripetal acceleration...

Would I figure that the entire mass was at the radius of gyration?

Am I getting close?...

This is a pump forum but your title, which, I assume, is the question, doesn't appear to have anything to do with pumps.  I'd suggest forum 404 (Mechanical Engineering - Other Topics).  However, if you decide to post there, be sure to leave a note here directing replies to that posting.  Also you might want to consider posting your question inside the message, not just in the title.
