Hello,

Is it possible to retrofit within a Water-Lithium Bromide absorption chiller an heat exchanger between the absorber and the generator ?

Do you know any manufacturers that proposes this feature "off the shell" ?

Why? There should be one low temperature and one high temperature exchanger apart from a heat reclaimer (that uses heat of condensate). Do you want another one beyond this? If so, why?

I was thinking it would be possible to reclaim more heat between the absorber and the generator (at the heat reclaimer or intercooler). But after reading some make documentation this idea does not seems possible, the intercooler is already sized to cool the solution going to the absorber and heat the solution going to the generator.

Based our experience with the operation of 4 absorption chillers in the 1500+ ton/day range you don't want to play with the heat balance anywhere near the machines.

The only thing we did in the heat flow to the chillers was we had a trim heater/cooler to minimize the temperature swings in the heat input to the chillers.

You should also be careful, before attempting to do such thing, as far as the temperature of concentrated solution is concerned. At 70% concentration (i.e after generator), reducing the temperature below 210C results in crystallization.
