AISC Section A4 Load Factor

AISC Section A4 Load Factor

(OP)
Dear colleagues,

I would like to know if setion A4.3, A4.4 and A4.5 all the load factor must be changed into 1 when we are designing places for public assembly, garages or when living loads exceeds 100psf even if the load factors are greater then 1?

Example:

A4.3      1.2*D + 1.6*(Lr or S or R) + (0.5*L or 0.8*W)
change to 1.0*D + 1.0*(Lr or S or R) + (1.0*L or 1.0*W)?

A4.4      1.2*D + 1.3W + 0.5*L + 0.5*(Lr or S or R)
change to 1.0*D + 1.0W + 1.0*L + 1.0*(Lr or S or R)?

A4.5      1.2*D +/- 1.0*E + 0.5*L + 0.2*S
change to 1.0*D +/- 1.0*E + 1.0*L + 1.0*S?

Thanks in advance.

RE: AISC Section A4 Load Factor

Note that the coefficient only applies to Live Load (L) not to any of the other terms.  In A4-3 to A4-5 the load factor for the Live Load (L) is less than one.  The others retain their stated load factor.

This is actually an increase in the load factor due to the nature of public facilities.
