3D Printing Vendors

So I am getting around to making a plastic model of some of our units. I have started looking for somebody to make the plastic model from my SW files.  I can't seem to narrow anybody down in the Houston area who has one of those 3D printers.  My var has one, but for some reason that are not interested in doing it.  The person doesn't have to be in Houston.

Anybody know anybody reputable?  Until I get my model done which will be a week or two, I need to get an guesstimated budget price to take to management.  I also need to find out what guidlines I need to follow, such as thinest piece and stuff like that.

RE: 3D Printing Vendors

I have used QuickParts (www.quickparts.com) several times. They have been very helpful and ... quick! They also have an Instant Quote module which can be run from their site or downloaded to your computer.

This topic has come up before & other companies were recommended also. Try a search for "rapid prototype" or similar.

RE: 3D Printing Vendors

I use The Technology House (www.tth.com) for SLA parts.  Not at all local to Houston, but I'd recommend them for rapid prototypes.

RE: 3D Printing Vendors

You mentioned 3D printing. ..for which process/material are you specifically looking?

Thanks guys for the info.

Ctopher I couldn't remember where to find them on the solidworks site.

CorBlimeyLimey,
The hardest part about using eng-tips is knowing what terms to search for.  That wasn't one I was using.

Also, with SW05, 06 & 07 > Task Pane > SolidWorks Resources > Online Resources > Print 3D lists several RP resources.

Try this one:

http://www.redeyerpm.com/

My buddy just had parts made and they came out killer. He told me the folks there were real helpful. They have many many material options in RP builds.

RE: 3D Printing Vendors

www.prototype3D.com

They have been our prototyper for years and have several different types of machines and processes.  We do approx 30-40k a year with them (don't ask why we don't get our own machine) and we have never found better service or prices any where.  Let them know I sent you.
