Is API 12D obsolete?

Is API 12D obsolete?

(OP)
Is API 12D obsolete? The last revision was 1994 and the last reaffirmation was 2000.  If a customer specifies the use of API 12D for small tanks (5000 bbl and under) is it appropriate to steer them to API 650 or use API 12D? Can API 12D be used for tanks other than those listed in table 1?

RE: Is API 12D obsolete?

API 12D 1994 R 2000 is active and current.

The "Specification for Field Welded Tanks for Storage of Production Liquids" lists API 650 among current API storage tank publications.  The capacities range from 500 to 10,000 barrels.
