Description-SW Explorer or Windows Explorer

Description-SW Explorer or Windows Explorer

(OP)
Is there a way to display "descriptions" in SW Explorer or Windows Explorer? I RMB on the windows toolbar and added "descriptions", but it doesn't disply the SW description. And I could not find any options in SW Explorer.

Thanks,

RE: Description-SW Explorer or Windows Explorer

I believe it only displays the Summary information. Not the Custom or Config Specific properties.

RE: Description-SW Explorer or Windows Explorer

I have not found a way. I probably wouldn't use it anyway because PDMWorks displays the info I need.

Turning on "comments" in Win Exp will show some info.

SW Explorer shows both Custom & Config Specific Descriptions. Are you looking for some other type of Description property?

macduff

What I do is add information in the Summary as suggested by CBL.  I then updated the Windows Explorer display and the information from the Summary section will appear.  Some of the information that I use is the Author (Designer's Initials) and Title (Description).  I find this easier to find a Model or Drawing that I required.  Hope this helps.  Cheers.

RE: Description-SW Explorer or Windows Explorer

macduff ... you mean like the View > Tree Display function in the Feature Manager.

Sounds like a good Enhancement Request.
