Resistor for RC Network

Resistor for RC Network

Resistor for RC Network

(OP)
I am looking for a wire wound resistor for an RC network with the following specs:

50 ohms, 60 or 70 thousand Joules, and 75kV withstand

Does anyone know of a company that I could get this from?

RE: Resistor for RC Network

Try someone like Cressall Resistors, or maybe Eaton if they are still in this ;ine of business. Is this for a traction application?

No, this filter is for the secondary of a 34.5KV to 4160V XFMR which is feeding switchgear.

Thanks for the help

RE: Resistor for RC Network

Cressall are definitely where I would look in the UK - I think Eaton and Cressall were competing for the same market, so they split the market into utility resistors (Cressall) and traction resistors (Eaton).

TPR are another UK-based industrial resistor manufacturer. Depends where you are in the world - any of the companies who build neutral earthing resistors should be able to help you out.
