Preview highlighted entities for move or copy

(OP)
I have AutoCAD Mech 2005.
When I copy or move objects the preview takes a long time to appear. It doesn't really matter whether I'm moving 1 object or 100. My computer should be OK for the job (2.4GHz,2 GB RAM, NVIDIA FX 1100 video 128MB). I can't see anything on the computer that is slowing it down and I have checked the parameters I found in the help file. I can open the files and they work correctly on different machines.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to look for?

Thanks

RE: Preview highlighted entities for move or copy

Start with basics. Is the variable HIGHLIGHT set to 1? Are you using DYNAMIC highlight (DYN on the status bar)? Are you saying that it soes not highlight the selection or the destination position is not showing?

HIGHLIGHT is set to 1, I did not see DYN on the status bar.

I can select everything just fine. The objects take along time to appear when you try to move them. So you select an object, select move, move the mouse to the new area and it will takes a few seconds for the object to appear in the new area. I have worked with some big files on smaller machines that do this when the selection is really big but on this machine it doesn't matter the size of the selection. The same size selection on a smaller machine doesn't take any time for the objects to appear.
