Wire Bend Table

Wire Bend Table

Wire Bend Table

(OP)
Do we have the ability to import/export wire bend tables? I have 2 students that say "ProE can do it." Basically - I create a model of a bent wire - then want to export the coordinate & bend data to a table. Then give that table to the CNC wire bender. Is there an add-in package for this?

I'm a little out of my element with this question...

RE: Wire Bend Table

SW can't do it out of the box, but you might be able to make a macro for it.  I have a bend chart that has the radius for wire, depending on the wire gauge and also how it's manufactured: 2D bender, 3D bender, or brake press. We then make flat patterns of the wire and then program the machine.  If you model your part with the correct radii, then flat patterns are easy to make.

RE: Wire Bend Table

I don't think so, but SW can import XYZ points (from excel or notepad and make a curve... Command is Curve through XYZ points. See help on how the excel or text file must be set up before importing into SW.
