PVC SDR 18, 21, 26, and 36 max heights of cover

(OP)
Does anybody know the maximum heights of cover for the various classifications of PVC pipe?  In particular, SDR 18, 21, 26, and 36.  Thanks so much.

RE: PVC SDR 18, 21, 26, and 36 max heights of cover

Try the Unibell website:

http://www.uni-bell.org/faq.html#q6

Q: What is the maximum allowable depth of bury for PVC pipe?
A: Allowable depth of bury can be calculated based on the allowable deflection as described above. Uni-Bell member products have been installed successfully at depths of fifty feet or more. The following tables are provided as quick reference.

Click here for Measured Long-Term Deflections of SDR 35 (PS 46) PVC Pipe (%)

As you will see, it depends on the soils that you have.

RE: PVC SDR 18, 21, 26, and 36 max heights of cover

Buried pipe forms a soil/pipe structure. You cant just guess a mximum soil depth. The pipe will take perhaps 10% of the external loads.

Download AS2566.1 from www.standards.org.au. this will give you a solid grounding as to how to  do the calculations
