Hi,
I was wondering, if any one can advise me about some companies(Manufacturers) in canada or states for applications in mining industry like Shaft sinking controls, Head frame  and winch. I am in a consul. firm and I beleive this is taken care by a third party.

Please advise.

Thanks

I guess my question was not that sophisticated or may be not that specific so I did not get any answers.
I will try to make it more specific.
"Please advise any website, book or a manufacturer which could give me a brief introduction for selection of hoists like speed, AC or DC, control schemes etc."

I did not find much about mining on this power forum but there must be some electrical engineers who might have a close call with hoist and selection criteria.
I know  this is not a spoon feeding website but just some website or literature advise will be helpful for me to step up.

Thanks

RE: Suppliers

Hoist control parts are manufactured by many companies; GE would be one.
You may be more interested in hoist and crane manufacturers like P&H, Yale, C&M, Shepard-Niles, Aceco, and Whiting. My familiarity with these comanies is from several years ago, and not from the mining industry, though.
Is this what you are looking for, or are you looking for some generic info about speed control systems for these type of devices?

Thanks Dandel,

I am a jr EE in a consul. firmand have been asked to research in this area for a new project. I have been through some drawings but I want to get a feel for the concept of Hoisting after shaft sinking. I would not mind studying some literature, if you are aware of some thing like that but I want to  get an idea as a consultant. Please advise, if you are familiar with some thing like that. It possibly could be control shcemes, equipments involved, Hoist selection criteria. I just need some starting point.
Thanks

Hi Dandel,
I went though all the manufacturer you advised but they are in to small hoist, but what I am looking for here is mine hoists.  Please advise as per my earlier post description.
Thanks

RE: Suppliers

Sorry, I am not familiar with mine hoists. If those manufacturers can't give you any leads, I'm at a loss to help you. Perhaps some other forum on this website might be helpful.

RE: Suppliers

Check ABB Canada for mine hoist control.

RE: Suppliers

Mine Hoists International is a supplier of mine hoists based in North Bay, ON.
Another is FKC Lakeshore (Evansville,IN) who supply hoists and controls to the mining and construction industries.
