Has anyone the experience of getting a Solid Edge model (v18) into AutoCad 3D?? If so how/what software/translation did you use??

Many many thanks in advance

Simon

RE: Converting to AutoCAD 3D

Do you mean Inventor for Autocad 3D?

RE: Converting to AutoCAD 3D

I don't think so, our customer is using AutoCAD 2005, and would like to import our models, as far as I know AutoCAD will only import *.SAT (but not SE *.SAT Files!), *.3DS or *.DWG (3D) files....

RE: Converting to AutoCAD 3D

Hi,

Sat is  don't know why they are having a pb opening the sat files you generate with SE.

In 'options' when saving as an SAT file, try changing the ACIS version to an older one (smaller number)

RE: Converting to AutoCAD 3D

Fred is probably on to it.  Acad and Inventor don't support SAT versions past V7, so save it to V7 or earlier.
