How do I create a 3d - triangular extruded cut? (or simillar) ?

I can e-mail anyone who doesn't understand a quick drawing done in Paint (can't be bothered to load up Photoshop)

Without a picture I would say make a sketch of a triangle then do a cut-extrude with a draft. If that doesn't work I'll take a picture too .
