distance mate in 2007

distance mate in 2007

(OP)
Why did solidworks change the default distance mate to 1?

In previous release it would give the actual distance and not default to 1 like 07.

Is there any way to go back to the old way? A check box/setting?

I've gotten used to dragging a componet close to where i want it go into mate and have that distance right there just need to "fine tune" it.

To me it seems to waste more time as i have to guess the distance now or mesure before i do the mate.

thanks for any advice.

RE: distance mate in 2007

This is a bug and is listed as being fixed in service pack 1.  Since SP1 ev is out now we should see the released version of SP1 very soon.

RE: distance mate in 2007

Yeah, I saw the same thing.  There are also other issues being fixed in SP 1.
