Acentric factor for EOS calculation

Acentric factor for EOS calculation

(OP)
Hi all, my first post =)

I am performing a calculation using the SRK-EOS and i data on the acentric factor for H2S and CO2. I know its probably somewhere in Perry's, but i cant find it right now...

Any help would be appreciated appreciated.

RE: Acentric factor for EOS calculation

CO2 -> 0.22394

H2S -> 0.1005

RE: Acentric factor for EOS calculation

CO2 → 0.224
H2S → 0.094

RE: Acentric factor for EOS calculation

Is the 0.094 the correct value?  I know that's what's published in Perry's 7th, but the 1.005 is what is published by NIST.  I tend to believe NIST over most other sources.

For my calculation @ 300 bars, ambient temp, going from omega=1.004 --> 0.094 for CO2 makes a difference in the 5th decimal.... :)

RE: Acentric factor for EOS calculation

The values I reported were taken from Introduction to Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics by Smith, Van Ness and Abbott. McGraw-Hill.

The values by Kenneth S. Pitzer in his book Thermodynamics (MfGraw-Hill) are:

CO2 → 0.223
H2S → 0.100
