Problem with dimensions bbeing visable...

Problem with dimensions bbeing visable...

Problem with dimensions bbeing visable...

(OP)
...hello newbie here with first post...we just installed SWX 07 and are having trouble with the dimensions on our engineering drawings. We use all driven dimensions on our drawings and changed the color to black in the system options but when we DXF the file the dimensions are practically non-existent. I searched through all the options and can not find the proper setting. They also appear very faded on the screen in SWX and I swear I saw a setting or layer or something to make them "appear" as driving in the past but for the life of me I can't figure this out.

Thank you very much for your help,

Bryan

RE: Problem with dimensions bbeing visable...

Try TOOLS/OPTIONS and check the dim colors.
When you DXF, when are dims non-existent? In the other software when importing ... or?
It has been a long going problem when DXF export/import dwgs with any CAD, dims go away.

You changed the color of driven dims to black, yet "They also appear very faded on the screen in SWX".  Check your dims and make sure they are not on a layer with a light color.

What program are you opening the DXF with?  I haven't had any problems with ACAD.  Maybe your video card is causing these problems.

They appear light and print even lighter, practically nonexistent. The only thing that changed was the upgrade to 2007.

RE: Problem with dimensions bbeing visable...

So you save the drawing to DXF & then open the DXF in AutoCAD or with the DWG viewer?

Look for "DXF/DWG Mapping" in the help menus...
