Toolbar Set-up File

Toolbar Set-up File

(OP)
I'm looking for the name of the file that ug saves the toolbar set-up to.

From my earlier thread titled 'Teamcenter and Copy/paste' the only resolution that UGS has offered is to reload UG.

I really don't want to have to go thru all of the time and effort to have to set up all of the tool bars again.

Thanks in advance

RE: Toolbar Set-up File

Two things...

1.) What version of NX are you running

2.) You need to give a little more detail on what you mean by "toolbar setup".  There are lots of things that a user can do with toolbars...where they're positioned/docked, the bitmaps shown on the icons, user-defined toolbars (creating your own toolbars), adding/removing icons, etc.

nkwheelguy,
Sorry, we are running nx2.

I'm looking for the file that controls the location and content of the standard ug basic toolbars.

Basically I've got the standard ug toolbars and icons that I use docked in a location that works for me with the icons that I use often. I'd like to be able to copy the file that controls the this so that when I reload UG I don't have to reset location/content for all of them.

We only have one custom toolbar so if I have to reset it it's really no big deal.

Thanks

RE: Toolbar Set-up File

Prior to NX 3, changes to the toolbars, including content and placement, was stored in the registry.  Starting with NX 3, we began moving control of NX specific User Interface settings to what's called an ".mtx" file storted in an area unique to each user and each subsequnet version of NX installed on the system.

RE: Toolbar Set-up File

If I recall correctly, there used to be a setting under the one of the options on the Preferences pulldown....I think it says "Save Layout at Exit" or something to that effect.  Once this is checked, NX2 will save your toolbar layout to the registry, as John pointed out.  The next time you start NX, the toolbars should all be right where you docked them.

I have no idea where in the registry this would be saved, but regardless, you could export that registry setting from one machine and import it into the registry on another.
