Vibration from pilling

Vibration from pilling

(OP)
Would anyone know of a good referance for calculating the vibration on adjoinging buildings from Pilling (vibro compaction - stone replacement columns)?

RE: Vibration from pilling

TSON:

There are several factors consider.

1.  Soil type and consistency.
2.  Distance from structure.
3.  Type of equipment used.

There are several correlations out there (see US Bureau of Reclamation).  However, be careful on using them.  You need to make sure they are applicable to your situation.  Your best bet would be to contact a vibro contractor (e.g. Hayward Baker) and see what they have.
