SCREW CONVEYOR

SCREW CONVEYOR

SCREW CONVEYOR

(OP)
The screw conveyor is inclined at 41 degrees. It has dual shaft each 4" in dia driven by a 5hp motor 1760rpm using chain drive and face mounted. The sprockets are 17" and 8.75" dia running at 120 rpm and 60 rpm respectively. I need to change the speed of bigger sprocket to 30rpm. How big sprocket do i need?

RE: SCREW CONVEYOR

If you need to cut your speed to 1/4 its current speed, multiply the diameter by 4.  However, since you're talking sprockets, count the teeth and multiply by 4.
