Shrinkwrap Solidify

Shrinkwrap Solidify

Shrinkwrap Solidify

(OP)
Does anyone know why when you create a Shrinkwrap using the SAVE A COPY you can solidify it, but when you create a shrinkwrap under SHARED DATA you can't do anything with it.

The great thing about shared data shrinkwrap is it carries a dependency back to the original assembly, but I need it to be a solid so it doesn't bog down the drawings.

The great thing about save a copy shrinkwrap is you can make it a solid, but there's no link back to the original assembly.

Any thoughts?

RE: Shrinkwrap Solidify

What steps are you using to create the shared data shrinkwrap? I tried this in WF2 and got it to solidify & dependent:
1 Assemble an empty part into the assembly
2 Activate the empty part
3 Insert - Shared data - Shrinkwrap & pick the components to shrinkwrap
4 Open the part
5 To select the quilt for solidifying, change the filter to Quilts, select & solidify (assuming the shrinkwrap has created a closed quilt - if not, change the quality)
6 The shrinkwrap feature is dependant, and can be updated by right clicking in the model tree & using "Update Shrinkwrap"
