UGNX CAM 4th axis program.

UGNX CAM 4th axis program.

Using NX3 Manufacturing I would like to cut a slot on a tube O.D. Not a groove but a "S" shaped slot the travels the length of the tube. I have created a Post that uses the 3-axis machining center with the addition of a indexable CNC head. What program option allows activation of a 4th axis? I have searched the Help section with out any good results.

Thanks in advance.

RE: UGNX CAM 4th axis program.

Is the indexable cnc head on the table?

If so it is possibly better to use a four axis postprocessor with an indexed fourth axis. With this in place you could use vector programming (tool axis not equal to ZM+) to get the orientation out e.g. mom_pos(3).

hope this helps

Yes, the indexable head is mounted on the table.

I will give you suggestion a try this evening.
