Repad requirements for system header stub-ins

Repad requirements for system header stub-ins

Repad requirements for system header stub-ins

(OP)
Was wondering where I could find or what are the requirements for installing repads at nozzel stub-in locations on a system header if any. Presently I am looking at a project that has a 20" header with 16" stub-ins both standard wall thickness. I am thinking that it would be in Section VIII Div 2 but not 100% sure.

Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
TD

RE: Repad requirements for system header stub-ins

Did you look at SecVIII Div. ,Appendix 1,Item 7?

You may be able to view this as "pipe".

RE: Repad requirements for system header stub-ins

If this is pipe that falls under ASME B31.3, Reinforcement requirements are covered in para. 304.3.3 and Fig. 304.3.3. There are also some sample calculations in Appendix H.
