Looking for some clarification on Underwater Shock

(OP)
I am currently analysing a ship stabiliser for its withstand to a customer produced requirement.

In the specification the customer has asked whether our structure can withstand a pulse of X bar for 2 milliseconds (this is the only detail we have been supplied). In my analysis I have assumed that this is the pressure build up on one side of the fin before any structural/hull response . i.e. In my model a pressure load has been applied as a square wave of 2milliseconds period to the side of the stabiliser facing the blast.This is part of a Dynamic Time analysis.

Does this seem a valid analysis or should I be looking for more detail from the customer.

Any assistance would be most appreciated.

Seems valid, and considering the amount of fluid damping i don't think you need to worry too much on the responses. Note that, for a dynamic vibration calculation (response calculation ?) you'll need to define the entrained water.
