Tertiary Winding Testing

Tertiary Winding Testing

(OP)
Does anyone know how to test the health of the buried tertiary winding in a Power Transformer.  The primary and secondary windings are Wye/Wye.

RE: Tertiary Winding Testing

There is no way to test the health of buried tertiary winding in a power transformer. In case you bring one corner of the tertiary delta outside for earthing, through a bushing, you can check the insulation resistance of winding to earth. If the  open corner of delta is brought out side  through two bushings and then shorted to form delta, then you can check the healthiness by way of resistance measurement and FRA.
