Broken Out Sections disappearing

Broken Out Sections disappearing

Broken Out Sections disappearing

(OP)
Dear Folks;

Yesterday I created 2 broken out sections, made enlarged detail views of each and dimensioned them.

Today the broken out sections have disappeared, the detail views now just show hidden lines.

The broken out views still show up in the browser. I've tried editing the depth and redefining the spline I used to create them but no luck.

I thought perhaps broken out sections might have a direction of cut but I cant find any way to edit that.

A third broken out section I created in the drawing shows up fine.

Anyone have any ideas what might cause the sections to dissapear ?

Best Regards

RE: Broken Out Sections disappearing

When you "mouse over" the area where solid lines should be, do they highlight?

Could be a bug, or video card/driver combination, or ???

Can you open the file OK on other machines?
Does the drawing print OK?
If you "save as" eDrawing or jpg do the lines appear?

cheers

RE: Broken Out Sections disappearing

Usually it's the video card.
Try changing the view to draft quality.

Dear Corblimey;

The lines dont appear when I mouse over them. Only the spline appears when I click the broken out section in the browser. It also does not appera in a jpeg or an edwg.

Dear ctopher;

Tried draft quality, that does nothing. Video card is NVidea 900XGL, Driver 6.14.10.5317.

Thing is if the video card was playing up why would one broken  out section be showing and the other 2 invisible ?

Have you tried changing that view to shaded or shaded with edges?  Many times that helps, or open the model of that view, rebuild, then go back to the drawing.

RMB click on the view, select Show Edge then select edges that are highlighted.

RE: Broken Out Sections disappearing

Dear Folks;

Thanks for all your great suggestions.

The only thing that finally made a difference was closing the drawing completely, and reopening the drawing.

Strangely enough, the broken out sections became visible again after I had to jump on a different job later in the day and had to close out all my work.

I have also had the problem copying drawing borders from one sheet to another. In the process of setting up 2 new drawing borders, I copied in a border prior to modifications while in edit sheet mode. The border did copy in but was invisible.

When you hovering over the entities with the cursor, you could tell there was something there but the only way to make it reappear again was to close out everything and re open it.

So sorry it took me so long to figure that out.

Best Regards
