Design central tube of cyclone

(OP)
Hello everyone,
I have any problem.I'm seeking principle of design central tube of cyclone for cement plant(relative between diameter and height of cyclone and central tube). Can any one help?
Thank you for every suggestion.

RE: Design central tube of cyclone

In the thread 798-141255 (Dec.1, 2005) I gave 21 literature souces how to design a cyclone.

RE: Design central tube of cyclone

I understand you are aware of how to design a cyclone following the equations of e.g. Barth and Muschelknautz which are the basis for a proper design. However, those equations do not give any hints about common relative proportions of cyclones.

Here are some rules of thumbs which can be found in literature (VDI Berichte 1511, p. 25):

Diameter cyclone / diameter central tube = 2
(Total length cylcone - Length central tube) / diameter central tube = 5 to 10
Length central tube / diameter central tube = 1

In the literature mentioned by m777182 iterative equations for optimizing the length of the central tube can be found which take into account geometry, viscosity, density and velocity in the cyclone.

m777182,

The next time you need to reference a previous thread if you will call it out as in the following it will be linked to the thread.

Your references give one all the information they would ever want to know about cyclones. I pass your list to a colleague who is into cyclones.
