DRA (drag reducing agents); good for gasoline, diesel?

DRA (drag reducing agents); good for gasoline, diesel?

(OP)
Greetings,

Does anyone here have any thoughts or experience on drag reducing agents.  For the project I am currently working on, there is a desire to increase capacity of our products pipeline.  Naturally, the refinery is pumping out diesel (ULSD & HSD), gasoline, and kero.  I am wondering if there is a problem adding a drag reducing agent to these above mentioned products?  I know it is used already upstream to reduce viscosity of heavy crudes.  Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.

Best Regards,

Kyle

Not my field, but somewhat familar since diluents are used here in California.  I believe diluents are only used with very heavy crudes, as a cheaper method of reducing viscosity than heating the pipeline. Otherwise, the costs (removal of the diluent at the end (distillation?) and transportation back to injection point) outweigh the benefits.

Apparently, they are also used on gasoline and diesel streams in ppm dosages. Have you tried a google search? There is plenty of information on DRA's.
