i want on a plate to determine the roughness
any one know how to do this

also i want to create a surface like dimple´s  what you find on a golf ball
but what ever i try cannot get it done it make´s  me grazy

any good sugestions??

RE: roughness

Might be an easier way, but how about GSD -> create a sphere that intersects the surface, rectangular pattern.

Go to Part Design -> split -> choose the patterned surface.

Since its a plate (flat?) this would be easy enough.  For a moving surface I'm not really sure...

RE: roughness

(OP)
good idea ,  but i cannot get the sphere cut into the plate since in do not need a hole only a dimple
so let say 1 mm steel plate a dimple if 1 mm also with diameter of 10 mm

just cannot get it done in part design

and yes it also have to rotate

RE: roughness

May be you can ...

have 2 bodies :  first one with 1mm plate, seconde one with a 1mm thick (outside) 10mm radius half sphere.

then make boolean trim.... and fillet if needed
