Need 400HP Belt Driven Vane Axial Fan, Where can one find one?

(OP)
im looking for some 400HP Belt Driven Vane Axial Fans. at least 300+ HP. for tunneling use. Do you know any company that makes this? Thanks

yerx:

Just as is the case for reciprocating compressors, I doubt that you will find a V-belt driven fan for more than 100 to 150 hp.

If I'm wrong, I'd like to know who supplies it and how it is configured (i.e., how many belts and what size).

RE: Need 400HP Belt Driven Vane Axial Fan, Where can one find one?

True, but toothed belts a few inches wide can transmit several hundred horsepower with ease if the belt speed is kept high enough.

I have no idea where to get a suitably large fan though.

What are the design Airflow and Pressure specs for the fan you are after?  300-400HP seems like a vast amount of drive power for one fan.  Try talking to Elta www.eltafans.com about custom applications.

don't know much about what you are trying to do but if this is for air ventilation in a tunneling project would it not be better to have two smaller fans instead of just one large fan in case one of the fans failed there would still be some air cirrculation.

just a thought
